About Us and Our History

The physicians of West Wilson Family Practice Center PC have been serving the needs of Mt. Juliet, Lebanon, and Hermitage residents since 1982. Our office-based diagnostic services include x-ray, EKG, bone density, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory. 

Founded in 1982 by Dr. Bernard Pare and Dr. Sophie Lagueux and later joined by Dr. Cameron Shearer in 1988, our physicians strive to provide the highest quality affordable healthcare. In 2006, Laura Gillespie, FNP, joined us at West Wilson Family Practice Center PC. In 2001, we opened the West Wilson Walk-In Clinic.

Dr. Bernard Pare', M.D.


Bernard Pare, M.D. received his medical degree from Laval University in Quebec and completed his internship at McGill University in Montreal. He worked two years full time in Montreal Emergency Room before moving to Mt. Juliet where he now resides. 


He has been in private practice since he came to Mt. Juliet in 1982. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Sophie Lagueux, M.D.


Sophie Lagueux, M.D. received her medical degree from the University of Montreal and completed her residency in Family Practice at Verdun Hospital in Montreal, Canada. She has been in private practice since she came to Mt. Juliet in 1982. 


She received her Certification of Clinical Densitometry in 2003. She is a member of the Canadian Society of Family Practice, the Quebec Society of Family Practice, and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Cameron Shearer, Pharm D, M.D.  RETIRED 12/31/2022



Cameron Shearer, Pharm D, M.D. received his bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the University of Manitoba and Doctorate of Pharmacy and residency at the University of Cincinnati. He completed his medical training at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and internship at the Royal Columbian Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia. 


He is a member of the Tennessee Academy of Medicine and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Shearer has interest in sports-related injuries and enjoys long distance running, hockey, and other physical fitness activities. 

He is also authorized as a Civil Surgeon for the Department of Homeland Security to perform immigrant naturalization physical examinations.
